DEMON
Demon draws inspiration from medieval marginalia, where the grotesque and the satirical merge to challenge authority and societal norms. This pot, with its woven panel and an overflowing basket of phallic forms, reclaims the absurd and the obscene as tools of feminist resistance. The interplay of clay and textile echoes historical craft practices, traditionally undervalued as ‘women’s work.’ By weaving humour and subversion into the piece, Demon exposes the lingering anxieties around female autonomy, desire, and power…transforming the vessel into both a relic and a rebellion.
