Witches' Urns – Vessels of Shadows (2024)

Witches' Urns is a rebellious tribute... a series of hand-built clay vessels forged in fire and defiance. Created as part of my MA Collaboration Module and exhibited in Shadowlands, these urns honour women persecuted as witches…from ancient Rome to our own uneasy now. Each piece is a container of stories buried, voices burned, and magic misunderstood.

Embedded with nails, bolts, feathers, and wild fibre weaves, the urns echo ritual and rebellion. They are not quiet memorials…they shout. Screws pierce the surfaces like accusations. Threads twist like whispered spells. These are not just urns... they are ancestral amplifiers, part offering, part protest.

Clay becomes witness. Texture becomes testimony. The materials clash and coil like history itself—messy, layered, and alive.
